Our paper “Design Principles behind Beauty and Joy of Computing” by Paul Goldenberg, June Mark, Brian Harvey, Al Cuoco, and Mary Fries was selected as Best Paper, Curriculum Initiatives at SIGCSE 2020 which has moved online this year. The paper describes the pedagogical theory behind the development of BJC. The abstract is included below, and you can read the whole paper for free.

We are pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation has awarded a four-year grant (calendar years 2015-2018) to a partnership of four organizations that will create new BJC curriculum materials and bring them to 100 New York public high school teachers.
