Sharing Your Game

The game isn't nearly finished, but it's finished enough. On this page, you will share your project so others can play your game.
  1. You can use either option below if you have a Snap! account. If you do not have a Snap! account, you need to use Option A.

Option A: Share your project as a file

Sending an XML file sends a static version of your project.
    • On the previous page, you learned how to save an XML file by saving to your computer instead of the cloud. You can also go to File menu (File menu button) and select "Export project..." to generate an XML file.
    • You can send this XML file to others. To open the file, they can go to Snap! and drag in the XML file. They can also go to the File menu (File menu button) and Open... the file.
    • If you make changes to your project, then you have to save the project again and send the new file for others to see your updates.

Option B: Share your project as a link

"Sharing" your project will create a link that will let others see the most recently saved version of your project.

  2. If you are working with a partner, make sure you both have a copy.

Saving a Copy of a Project

    • Whether you share your project as a file or a link, whenever the second partner saves the project (to their computer or to their account), they will be saving a copy—not a shared file. If the second partner changes the project, they need to save and share the project (as a file or a link) again with the first partner for the first partner to see the change.
If you and your partner have Snap! accounts, the project will save to the account of the person who is logged in. To change who is logged in to Snap!, open the Cloud menu (cloud menu button) and choose "Logout." Let your partner log in to Snap!.
